Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and Mother of the Nation, donated $20 million to the “UAE stands with Lebanon” campaign.
On Friday, special coverage was launched to support the relief campaign for Lebanon, “UAE with You, Lebanon”, which includes a unified live broadcast on “Abu Dhabi Media Network”, “Dubai Media”, and “Sharjah Broadcasting Authority”, starting at 2:00 pm, under the supervision of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council.
The “UAE stands with Lebanon” campaign, which was launched on Tuesday and will continue until October 21, represents a new milestone in the historical path and steadfast approach of the UAE, its leadership and people, to stand by Lebanon in all stages, especially during emergencies and crises that it has been exposed to over the course of 5 decades. The campaign, directed by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and in which the community, institutions, and government and private bodies participate, embodies the will and determination of the UAE to harness all capabilities and provide everything necessary to support our Lebanese brothers, assist them and stand with them in facing current challenges and difficulties.
In light of this campaign, the UAE sent 6 aircraft loaded with approximately 205 tons of medical, food, relief supplies and shelter equipment, to contribute to alleviating the severity of the critical humanitarian and health repercussions, in cooperation with international partners.
On September 30, His Highness the President of the UAE, ordered the provision of an urgent relief aid package worth $100 million to the brotherly Lebanese people.
On Monday, Sheikh Mohamed directed the operation of 6 additional flights to transport humanitarian aid to the brotherly Lebanese people, in addition to providing an urgent relief aid package worth $30 million to the displaced Lebanese people in the Syrian Arab Republic.
