In accordance with the Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Port Security (ICP), if the head of the family is a wanted individual or has violated the residency law, and the family members are also overstayers, and the children of the family wish to rectify their status and remain in the country, their mother can sponsor them if she is employed.
This is subject to the deadline for rectifying the status of those in violation and exempting them from financial penalties and administrative constraints, which extends until Oct.30, 2024.
In detail, the ICP explained that in the case of a family’s head is a wanted individual or an overstayer and his family’s members are also violating the residency law , the family members are permitted to depart from the country, or rectify their status according to the circumstances.
Furthermore, in the event that the family head wishes to depart with his family, the residency of the family members will be cancelled, and will be permitted to leave without fines before end of this month.
Furthermore, the ICP stated that should the family members of the children wish to rectify their status and remain in the country, they are permitted to do so through the mother if she is employed or in accordance with the conditions of the work visa, in accordance with the established procedures and guidelines.
Additionally, if the head of the family utilises the service of issuing a visa, the residency of the family members under his sponsorship will not be revoked.
The ICP calls on overstayers in the UAE to take advantage of the grace period granted to them to rectify their status before it expires on October 30, 2024. It has also been announced that all fines previously imposed on violators before the start of the grace period, which began on Sept.1, will be reintroduced.
