The depression in the southern Arabian Sea is expected to deepen on the western Indian coast into a tropical depression moving towards the central Arabian Sea on Tuesday, according to National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The expected tropical depression will possibly move either towards the west to the middle of the Arabian Sea and then towards the central Omani coasts or towards the west-southwest to the middle of the Arabian Sea and then towards Socotra, the NCM said.
The NCM affirmed that it is monitoring the situation round the clock and would continue to provide the latest developments, calling on everyone to follow its bulletins and reports and not to circulate rumours.
Meanwhile, Tuesday’s weather is expected to be dusty and partly cloudy but will become cloudy with some cumulus clouds interspersing over some eastern and southern areas, accompanied by rain in the afternoon.
Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to active to strong and dust-stirring at times at 15 to 25 and up to 50 km/h, causing horizontal visibility to drop, while the sea will have regular to moderate waves but will become rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
