His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (Sewa) to expedite the connection of natural gas service to all areas of the emirate.
This was announced by Engineer Ibrahim Al Balghouni, Director of the Natural Gas Department at Sewa, while being interviewed by the media man Mohammed Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, during the "Direct Line" programme.
Al Balghouni stated that the cost of connecting the service to the central region is Dhs15 million.
He explained that the project is divided into four phases, the first of which involved connecting the service to Al Bataih area and it has been completed and 1,200 residents have benefitted from it.
The second phase, according to Al Balghouni will be implemented in Al Burair, followed by Jabal Omar and Tal Al Zaafaran, and 300 residents will benefit."
