Parts of the UAE on Thursday, witnessed rainfall with varying intensities, as a consequence of a low pressure taking place in the Arabian Sea and the subsequent gradual movement of clouds towards the country.
Light precipitation commenced in Sa'a, Al Foua, Malakat, Zakher, Khatam Al Shikla, and Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain and Al Nouf in Abu Dhabi. Additionally, Humaim in the Al Dhafra and other dispersed locations experienced light to moderate rainfall.
The lowest temperature in the country recorded on Thursday was 16.7°C in Jabal Jais, Ras Al Khaimah, at 04:45 am. The second lowest temperature was at 18.2°C in Jabal Mabrah at 04:15 am, as reported by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The NCM urges the public to exercise caution while driving during periods of precipitation. It is also advised to avoide areas where water accumulates and surface run-offs, citing the potential for adverse driving conditions.
In light of the prevailing meteorological conditions, the Abu Dhabi Police call on drivers to exercise caution on the road and to adhere to the variable speed limits indicated on electronic signage.
The NCM has forecast that the weather on Friday, will be partially cloudy, with the potential for occasional heavy showers, particularly in the eastern and western regions. Winds are expected to be southeasterly to northeasterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate, and occasional dust and sand clouds may result in a reduction in horizontal visibility. Sea conditions are expected to be calm to moderate, with occasional light to medium waves in the Arabian Gulf and light waves in the Sea of Oman.
The Saturday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy to sometimes cloudy, with the possibility of precipitation in some eastern and western areas. Additionally, temperatures will increase, becoming humid at night and on Sunday morning in some coastal and inland areas, with the potential for fog or light fog. The winds will be southeasterly to northwesterly and northeasterly. The estimated speed of these winds is between 10 and 25 km/h, with occasional gusts reaching up to 35 km/h. Additionally, the sea will exhibit light to medium waves in the Arabian Gulf and light waves in the Sea of Oman.
The weather on Sunday is expected to be partly cloudy to sometimes cloudy, and humid at night and on Monday morning with the possibility of fog or light fog forming on some coastal and inland areas. The winds will be southeasterly to northwesterly, light to moderate speed, sometimes active at speed of 10-25 up to 35 km/h, and the sea is light to medium waves in the Arabian Gulf and light waves in the Sea of Oman.
The Monday’s weather is expected to be clear, with occasional partial cloud cover and elevated humidity at night and on Tuesday morning. Additionally, the potential for the formation of fog or light fog was noted in some coastal and inland areas. Winds are expected to be southeasterly, gradually shifting to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate, and occasionally exhibiting increased activity. The estimated speeds may range between 10 and 25 km/h, with the sea exhibiting light to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf and light waves in the Sea of Oman.
