His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday honoured winners of the 8th Arab Reading Challenge.
This was in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
This initiative engaged over 28 million students from 50 countries, representing more than 229,000 educational institutions, and was overseen by a supervisory staff comprising 154,000 male and female personnel.
The ceremony, hosted by the Dubai Opera, served to announce winners of the Arab Reading Challenge-2024, the first place winner in the category of People of Determination, the Outstanding School, the Outstanding Supervisor, as well as the Community Champion.
In a historic first, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum bestowed the first place in Arab Reading Challenge-2024 upon three exceptional students: Salsabil Hassan Sawalha from Palestine, Kadi Bint Misfer from Saudi Arabia, and Hatem Mohammed Jassim from Syria.
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed honoured the winner of the Arabic Reading Challenge for non-Arabic speakers, Mohammed Al Fateh Al Rifai. Sheikh Hamdan also honoured Mohammed Ahmed Hussein, category of people of determination in the Arab Reading Challenge.
Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan honoured Rabih Ahmed the Distinguished Supervisor in the Arab Reading Challenge. The UAE's Al Ibdaa School was selected as the best school in the Arab Reading Challenge and will receive a prize valued at one million dirhams.
