The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases Court has ordered a woman to pay Dhs10,000 in pecuniary and non-pecuniary compensation to a man she insulted via the Google Maps application with indecent language.
In particular, a male plaintiff filed a lawsuit against a female defendant, seeking a judgment requiring the latter to pay him Dhs50,000 for both physical and moral harms.
Additionally, the plaintiff sought an order compelling the defendant to pay fees and expenses.
The basis for this claim was that the defendant had used Google Maps to send the plaintiff obscene messages. Furthermore, a criminal case was initiated, resulting in a conviction and a fine of Dhs5,000, the confiscation of the devices in question, and the deletion of the information.
The plaintiff sustained material and moral damages as a consequence of the defendant's actions, which ultimately led to the filing of the present lawsuit.
