Abu Dhabi Health Authority has revealed the monitoring of 179 counterfeit pharmaceutical products since the beginning of 2024, including dietary supplements, bodybuilding products, stimulants, cosmetics, weight loss products, which were of unknown origin and counterfeit.
The Authority published in the list of counterfeit products, which it updates periodically, the most prominent counterfeit products, including Quadragen (Testolone - Stanozol - Epiandrosterone - Andarine) and Advanced Research Testolone, which are prohibited products used for muscle building and bodybuilding and their use results in health risks such as heart attack, stroke, and liver damage.
The list also included products such as "Infla-650, La Bex, Honey Extra Strength, Steve Rock Gold, Raging Bull 50000, Super Reno Gold Reno 25 Honey, and Flower Power," which are used for sexual enhancement and result in serious complications.
It also included prohibited products used for cosmetic purposes, such as "Pinkz Fashion Fair Cream (Skin Treatment), Hado Labo Gokujyun Hatomogi, Newborn Cream, Gudong Lige, and White Smooth Aura, besides weight loss products such as "U-One Slimming Herbal, Slim Strong, Moya Slimming, and Lipofun.
The Authority affirmed that the use of these products can result in serious health effects, as they are manufactured and stored in unsuitable conditions, and do not follow good manufacturing practices, which may lead to the contamination of the product with harmful substances such as bacteria, fungi, and heavy metals.
It indicated that some of these products have been proven to be counterfeit with medicinal substances that have not been declared in the product.
The Authority warned all against purchasing or consuming any listed product and advised them to seek advice from their treating physician or healthcare professional before using any dietary supplement.
