The Fujairah Police General Command was able to facilitate the reunification of two sisters who had been separated by circumstances beyond their control 30 years ago. However, the younger sister remained convinced of the possibility of finding her older sister.
In the details, the younger sister stated that she had travelled to Dibba Al Fujairah with her mother to visit her older sister, who had married a UAE citizen many years ago. Subsequently, the younger sister and her mother returned to their country of origin, Egypt.
Later on, her father died, after which she relocated with her mother to another city in Egypt. After that, the mother also died, leaving her bereft of familial connections.
The older sister indicated that she subsequently travelled to Egypt with her husband, approximately five years after her mother and sister had visited. The purpose of this visit was to meet with her family. However, she was disconcerted to discover that the residence had been vacated and that the new address of the family was not forthcoming.
As a result, she returned to the UAE, experiencing considerable distress and lacking any optimism regarding the possibility of locating them.
After a considerable period of time, the younger sister travelled to the UAE with the intention of locating her sister through her husband's name.
Upon arrival at one of the country's airports, she procured a taxi and subsequently proceeded directly to the Emirate of Fujairah, specifically the city of Dibba Al Fujairah. There, she narrated her story to the relevant authorities at the Dibba Police Station.
In a period of five minutes, the officers from the Dibba Police were able to ascertain the whereabouts of the sister's husband. As a result, the two sisters were reunited, having been separated for approximately thirty years.
The two sisters expressed their gratitude to the Fujairah Police General Command, represented by the Dibba Police Station, for their prompt response and assistance in reuniting the two sisters. She stressed that her confidence in the UAE's police force motivated her to seek assistance from the country to fulfil her desire to meet her sister.
Brigadier General Saif Rashid Al Zahmi, Director of the Dibba Police Station, underscored the humanitarian aspect of the situation, expressing pride in the Station's personnel for their role in providing humanitarian assistance and facilitating the reunification of Egyptian citizens in a relatively short time.
