A statesman’s approach

Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan always supports a peaceful solution for any conflict in the world (“ US envoy appreciates Imran’s statement on Afghan peace,” April 27, Gulf Today).

From the first day Imran Khan believes in a peaceful solution of Afghanistan instead of a military solution.

I would like to appreciate the statement of US Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad on Friday in which he said he “greatly appreciates” a statement issued by Prime Minister Imran Khan a day earlier in which the latter regretted a new wave of violence “from all sides” in Afghanistan and reiterated Islamabad’s support for the peace process in the war-torn country.

He said Imran’s “appeal for reduction of violence and policy against promoting internal conflict in other nations has (the) potential to positively transform the region and give Pakistan a leading role.”

Pakistan is a peace-loving country, it wants to play its due role to bring about peace and stability in Afghanistan.
