We know there is still some time till Halloween, but one cannot help but get into the holiday spirit when there is so much going on around town. This week we are looking at all the Halloween related events happening now that one can enjoy with all the family.
If hosting a spooky party is on your agenda, look no further than Party Centre for all you decorations, costumes and accessories. If you’d rather attend a spook fest than host one, there are plenty of events to choose from. Dinner at the Fairmont is an option. Diners will be treated to a 5-star gourmet meal, all in pitch darkness. Things could get messy so make sure you don’t wear white!
Most bakeries will be doing Halloween themed cupcakes, check out Clinton St. Baking Company for a variety of different desserts including some pumpkin pies decorated with spider web icing. And of course, it wouldn’t be Halloween without a pumpkin. You can pre-order yours from Kibsons who do home deliveries.
In non-Halloween related news this week, turn to our Nutritive Steps column where Elaine Superio explains the basics of breast exams and breast health. For those of you who didn’t know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Elaine herself is a breast cancer survivor. Awareness is key and we need to talk more about these issues including early detection, risk factors and lifestyle changes.
