Hapless victims

This refers to the report (“End suffering of Palestinian people”, Nov.29, Gulf Today).

Whilst the world observed International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on November 29, the worst part of the decades-long struggle is the suffering of Palestine children.

There are horrifying scenarios of children becoming victims of atrocities, especially in countries where unrest continues to prevail.  As a result, they are denied the very basics in the beginning of their life.  Even though education is a fundamental right for the children, loneliness, poverty and uncertainty stop them from enjoying their rights.

For the countless Palestine children, it is so hard to find a safe place for their life to begin with. When a section of the world population enjoys their life, children in conflict-hit countries continue their struggle and the ambiguity that prevails in their life makes them stay worried throughout.

In reality, war and conflicts make a heavy impact on children in particular and they increasingly become vulnerable in their way forward to find a safer place to live in.  The world is yet to realise what the children in the state of Palestine have to bear for decades of unrest.  Perhaps they may not know what self-determination, independence and sovereignty means. But it is their right and it is left to the world to treat them with all what they need.
