The news of Pakistan International Airlines’ flight that was coming from Lahore to Karachi, and crashed near the port city’s airport in the densely populated area of Model Colony, is so painful and shocking (“Survivor recalls horror of Pakistan plane crash that killed 97,” May 23, Gulf Today).
The unfortunate plane crash claimed more than 97 lives onboard. The disaster comes as Pakistanis prepare to celebrate the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid, with many travelling to their homes in cities and villages.
I would like to express my deep sorrow to the families of victims. I pray that the God Almighty gives victims’ families the strength to bear this tragic moment and may the victims’ souls rest in peace.
