Coronavirus is an invisible silent killer. Unfortunately the world has experienced the worst situation facing a huge number of coronavirus cases and many deaths.
But at the same time the world has learnt how to live with the deadly virus till the virus vaccine approved by the World Health Organisation is introduced (“Coronavirus death toll in Asia tops 100,000,” Sept. 4, Gulf Today website).
According to the reports, Asia has registered more than 100,000 deaths linked to the new coronavirus since it first emerged in December.
A total of 100,667 deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus in the region out of 5,420,803 officially declared cases, with 4,255,760 people considered to have recovered.
In terms of fatalities, India is the most affected country with nearly three-quarters of total deaths in the region — 67,376 deaths from 3,853,406 cases.
There is no doubt that the world is going through its toughest time due to the coronavirus pandemic. I am sure the experts in medical sciences around the world are working day and night to introduce approved coronavirus vaccination.
The pandemic has changed the living standards of the world. Because of coronavirus many countries are facing serious decline in their GDPs. But the show must go on.
I would like to appreciate the measures taken by the countries to stop the spread of the coronavirus. People should pay serious attention to the guidelines provided by their governments.
We should show that we are responsible people. Social distancing is a key to stop the spread of the disease. I know it is a difficult time, but I am also sure that this time will also not last long.
I hope the best time will come soon when we see the same normal world as it was before the coronavirus pandemic.
