With the news that Moscow starts mass COVID-19 vaccination, it seems that the world is going to get rid of deadly virus that has killed more than one million people around the globe (“Moscow starts mass COVID-19 vaccination with its Sputnik V shot,”
According to the reports, Moscow began its first mass vaccination against the disease. Russian capital has started distribution of the Sputnik V COVID-19 shot via 70 clinics on Saturday.
Moreover, Moscow launched an online service on Friday for people to book appointments to be vaccinated against coronavirus, two days after President Vladimir Putin called for large-scale vaccinations. The age for those receiving shots is capped at 60. People with certain underlying health conditions, pregnant women and those who have had a respiratory illness for the past two weeks are barred from vaccination.
The world has paid a heavy price in the COVID-19 pandemic. Billions of people have lost their job, many multinational companies forced to shut their businesses because of lockdowns everywhere. The hard work of scientists is going to pay off. We have to appreciate the work of medical scientists.
The United Kingdom government has also approved COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer Inc and its German partner BioNTech SE. The government also announced that the coronavirus vaccine will be available for everyone in the coming few days. According to reports China is also set to announce its COVID-19 vaccine in coming days, and India Prime Minister announced that the COVID-19 vaccine for everyone will be available in a few weeks.
I hope the world will be the same world we were pre-COVID-19 pandemic soon.
