Laudable leadership

The way the United Arab Emirates handles one of the deadliest viruses, COVID-19, is an example for the whole world. There is no doubt that the UAE will be the fastest nation to beat the virus in the world (“UAE will be fastest nation to beat virus: Mohammed,” Dec.7, Gulf Today).

From the start, the United Arab Emirates has taken exemplary measures to stop the spread of coronavirus in the country.

It did the complete lockdown and sterilised the whole country. People who got infected with the virus got complete care in government hospitals.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on his Twitter handle announced that GITEX 2020 will be launched on Dec.6.

“GITEX 2020 will be the most important and realistic global technical event in 2020 and the UAE will be the fastest country to recover from COVID-19 in the world,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted on Saturday.

“Our institutions have proven their ability to adapt and we will conclude 2020 with a global event and we will start 2021 with a series of projects and major initiatives,” he said.

I am sure, the year 2021 will be the best year for the whole world. Everyone in the United Arab Emirates and abroad will celebrate Expo 2020 as well.
