Something I adore and admire about the hustle and bustle in UAE are the numerous festivals and events taking place one after the other. Christmas is just around the corner, and we also have the Dubai Shopping festival (“DSF kicks off 12-hour super sale at shopping malls in Dubai”, Dec 20, Gulf Today).
Every year DSF just gets bigger and better. It started off in 1996 and has grown immensely over time. With some splendid offers, discounted rates and exciting prizes, it offers a great opportunity to engage in meaningful shopping.
The opening day of the shopping festival normally has an amazing array of fireworks and jaw-dropping discounts and freebies, which attract numerous residents and tourists from around the globe. DSF literally transforms the city during the month-long extravaganza with its firework displays, pop-up fashion shows, mega sales and entertainment for people of all age groups.
And how can one miss stepping into the global village? It’s one of the world’s largest tourist attractions and a place for great entertainment that brings everyone under one roof. Thousands of people from various walks of life throng to various pavilions trying to get the best deal. The festival is well known for its hospitality, warmth, and affable service. As you enter pavilions put up by different countries the traditional music at some stalls makes you want to hang around for hours.
The mouth-watering cuisines from different countries, various live performances, art, and the depiction of cultures of places worldwide makes the Global village a must visit venue. Being in Dubai, it is a privilege for me to be a part of all this.
