This refers to the report “Foreign students on the verge of starvation in pandemic-hit UK” in the Gulf Today (Feb. 20).
The sad and pathetic situation of foreign students in a country like the UK is worrying. Students come to the UK, one of the richest and progressive nations in the world, with a lot of expectations in pursuing higher studies and a bright future in academics and career.
The unexpected pandemic has put them in trouble. Government agencies and other community organisations should reach to these students who are stranded in such a pathetic situation. As a country which hosts more than 400,000 students mainly from Asia, Britain should take necessary steps to alleviate the plights of the students.
