Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, who won a vote of confidence from Parliament on Saturday, shows people who voted against the candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Hafeez Shaikh on March 3 Senate election were manipulated by opposition parties offering huge amounts of money. In my opinion the March 3 election is become questionable now and can be challenged in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (“Imran Khan wins vote of confidence from Parliament,” March 6, Gulf Today website).
The Senate elections were held on March 3, in which former Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gilani, backed by all opposition parties in the National Assembly, won the Senate election against Hafeez Shaikh, the member of the present government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
A night before the Senate elections, a video went viral in Pakistan that showed Ali Haider Gilani, a son of former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yousuf Raza Gilani, was dealing with members of Parliament from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and offering them bribes (millions of rupees) to vote against their party candidate and vote for his father, Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The viral video of known politicians showed the black face of Pakistan’s democracy all over the world. Imran Khan came into politics to fight against corruption and make people’s lives better, but at the same time he is an alien to Pakistani politics because in Pakistan people do politics and consider it as a business where politicians make huge money at the cost of poor people.
