The past of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)’s leadership is blighted with corrupt practices, some of them are convicted in corruption cases by the top court, Supreme Court of Pakistan, that is a reason why the PDM drive has failed against the present elected government of Imran Khan (“PDM bigwigs in bid to save alliance from further cracks,” March 20, Gulf Today).
The bigwigs of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) are engaged in hectic efforts to save the opposition alliance from further fractures.
PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has established telephonic contact with Pakistan Peoples Party supreme leader Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo Nawaz Sharif.
PDM officials said that the three leaders agreed to keep the alliance intact and intensify their contacts for the purpose.
The purpose of the movement is to remove Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan from his current job, for it PDM has to show street power to bring him down, but the PDM has failed to do so during their last six months’ struggle against the government.
PDM leaders did heavy corruption and made huge properties inside the country and abroad. The poor people of Pakistan are paying the price for their corruption in the shape of everyday inflation on all the commodities.
