Many Indians who are waiting to get back to the UAE are facing a very difficult time. The rapid spread of the new strain of the coronavirus has adversely impacted many families, especially of expats. It’s been months since many in India are waiting to head back to see their loved ones here. There are employees who have not received their salaries while some have lost their jobs and others are working remotely.
To add to this, there is tremendous confusion alongside gossip and rumours about the resumption of airline services from India.
The months of July and August are normally the time when expats fly back home but this time many plan to stay back in the hot summer months in the fear that they will not be able to return to the UAE. Travelling is now becoming a hassle and this nightmare seems to be never ending.
A few states in India are still enforcing complete lockdown. Just like many others, I do not support this move in the long run but I do support COVID protocol such as wearing a mask and social distancing.
I hope the Indian government will do its best in curbing the spread of the virus and speedily relax restrictions thereby opening all services to the public.
