The 11-day Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), which concluded on Saturday, turned out to be a wonderful event for those who love to read and write. It was indeed a feast for the brain. Lots of Sharjah residents visited the fair almost everyday to find their best books. People from other emirates too thronged the SIBF to meet their favourite authors and listen to them live.
Lots of school and college students were seen inside the hall, surfing through different stalls to find their own pick. They all looked very excited. Lots of higher classes’ books were also seen at the stalls.
Almost every stall was full of visitors, which echoed the tagline of SIBF, “There is always a right book.” Seeing the younger generation spending lots of time at the book fair is simply great.
Lots of young kids looked completely lost in books. This shows our society is moving in the right direction. Having affinity for books is something incredible and this year the book fair looked much bigger and better.
Lots of international authors also graced the event. Lots of school going kids got inspired to see very young writers at the SIBF.
Lots of other competitive events also kept visitors excited. Despite covid-19 issues everything was well organized and visitors had very smooth experiences. I really appreciate the Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for showing the younger generation a right path to choose through hosting SIBF every year.
We are fortunate to be living in an era when visionary leader Dr. Sultan is guiding us for a better tomorrow.
