Former prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif has no other choice but to return to Pakistan. Sharif has been convicted by the top court of Pakistan and he has to face punishment and pay back looted money to the poor people of Pakistan (“Heated debate erupts in Pakistan over former PM Nawaz Sharif’s possible return,” Dec. 26, Gulf Today).
On many occasions Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders said that Nawaz Sharif will not return until his full recovery, but now there is no other option left in the United Kingdom for Nawaz Sharif because he doesn’t need any treatment. Nawaz Sharif left Pakistan on medical grounds, submitted a personal guarantee of his brother Shahbaz Sharif in the court that he would come back to Pakistan within six weeks, and face his sentence.
He is a fit person now. He can’t prove himself in the United Kingdom that he is not fit and wants to stay on medical grounds in the UK, in other words he can’t manage UK institutions like he managed Pakistani institutions and escaped his sentence. I think it’s good for him and his political party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz that he return to Pakistan as soon as possible and face the punishment given by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
