The UAE truly takes care of its citizens, and it is full-on. Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has approved 600 housing loans worth a total Dhs600 million. This will be provided by the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment as part of housing projects announced last year.
The decision stems from the aspirations and vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid to provide the best living conditions for Emirati families. This comes as part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan that maps a comprehensive plan for sustainable urban development in the emirate.
Dubai accords top priority to people’s happiness and quality of life at the centre of its development model, which enables it to provide an exceptional environment for individuals and families.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment recently raised the value of the housing loan provided to Emirati citizens to Dhs1 million. It also speeded up the processing of loans and extended the loan repayment period to 25 years. There are also many benefit schemes as part of its housing strategy that aim to design residential neighbourhoods to provide citizens the world’s best lifestyle and living environment for families. Little wonder that the UAE nationals need not worry about basic housing needs as the government is there to take care of them.
In November, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, approved Dhs3.8 billion housing projects in Dubai.
As part of the new projects, 2,000 plots of land will be distributed among Emirati citizens together with 900 ready-made villas. The projects also include a Dhs500 million integrated complex for small families. Sheikh Mohammed said providing quality housing for the public remained key to the UAE’s future plans.
“Today, we approved housing projects in Dubai with a value of Dhs3.8 billion, including the distribution of 2,000 residential plots, 900 ready-made housing villas, an integrated complex of half a billion dirhams for small families, and a set of services for beneficiaries, including the possibility of government administration building their own homes, exemptions from government fees, and a reduction in monthly instalments for housing loans,” Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter.
“The housing file will remain within our personal follow-up and our goal is to change the shape of residential neighbourhoods for citizens in the future to provide the best lifestyle and the best environment for families in the world.”
In the same month, under the directives of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, ordered the disbursement of housing loans and houses, and residential plots and the exemption of families of deceased and retirees mortgagors from loan repayments.
The housing package, worth a total of Dhs10 billion, benefited 10,032 citizens in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The housing package coincides with the UAE’s celebrations of the 50th National Day.
Even Sharjah has not lagged behind in welfare schemes for the Emiratis. The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) recently approved the first batch of 523 beneficiaries of housing grants and loans worth Dhs382 million in implementation of the directives of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to support family stability and provide a decent life for citizens. The total value of housing support in all previous payments so far has reached Dhs6.8 billion. That’s not all. Sheikh Sultan said that 1,000 jobs are available this year within the budget of government departments, while 3,000 expatriates at Sharjah Police will be substituted with Emiratis.
