The 7th edition of Pakistan Super League is going on in full swing. The Karachi leg of the tournament has just concluded very successfully and has seen few teams doing extremely well, while a few of them have failed to perform as per their expectation. Hope those teams which lagged behind in Karachi might overcome their shortcomings in the Lahore league of the tournament. One such team which failed miserably is Babar Azam’s Karachi Kings. I am sure Baba will bounce back soon.
A world-class batsman and a leader, Baba remained in-form and performed in all the matches, but cricket is a team game. Babar alone can’t do much. It is sad to see that people have started criticising him for his team’s performance. This should not have happened. A national hero should be respected. Cricket is a game of uncertainty, and anything can happen in this game. Some people have even started comparing him with Multan Sultan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan. This comparison is very bad.
A lot depends on team combination. A player like Babar should be respected always. He is very young and has a long way to go. I really appreciate former Pakistani fast bowler Shoeb Akhtar, who said loudly that Babar is a brand of Pakistan and he should be protected and respected.
