This too shall pass

This is with reference to the news item published in Gulf Today, “Hijab issue severely affecting Karnataka students’ education,” Feb.13, Gulf Today. It is very sad to read this news.  Such things should not have happen in India, because India has been a role model for the entire world.  India is one of the few countries in the world which has always inspired the entire world for being so tolerant since ages.

The country is known for religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence and unity in diversity.  This is how the country has progressed so much in such a short span of time and is widely respected in the international circuit. It is the country where you see a Sikh, Manmohan Singh, as the prime minster and a Muslim, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, as the president. It has adored Dilip Kumar as their biggest star. The country has never differentiated on the basis of religion, region or languages.  India is also known as the land of spirituality. While walking on the bylanes of Delhi or Mumbai or Varanasi, you will hear Azaans and at the same time chanting from the temple on the same street and this is how India looks like.  India has always been on a different turf.  I am sure the Government of India will sort out the hijab issue soon.
