Back to normalcy

The unprecedented virus that had hit our city should have been a lesson for all of us. With minimal cases reported things are getting back to normalcy which is a relief for many of us.  Many of us never even realised or dreamt that we would end up in a lockdown. The number of cases we had seen over the past few weeks was just alarming. It changed how we work play and live.

Due to this education was affected, smooth business transactions could not take place but instead, most of us were asked to stay indoors and practise social distancing for some time. Some were even asked to take leave without pay.

It is hard to gain a perspective when you are in the middle of such uncertainty; to make sense of what is going on and how the future will emerge. Such a crisis is a wake-up for all of and it also teaches us that we need to be ready to face anything and everything in life. We better ensure that each of us starts looking after ourselves, maintaining personal hygiene all the time, and not waiting for sickness to spread.

I used to see building apartments, office receptions, shopping centres, grocery stores fixed with hand sanitisers with strict dos and don’ts. Sadly, residents were faced with the inconvenience as hand sanitisers and masks in many pharmacies were out of stock due to which many had to get these couriered. But we pulled on, adhered to the dos and don’ts and managed to survive.

During this time of uncertainty where paranoia is a natural reaction, we should approach one another with kindness and understanding. Let’s continue to gather the correct information while taking the necessary precautions without falling into the trap of mass panic and continue to look out for one another and treat our fellow peers with respect and kindness.
