It is heartening to see Pakistan and Australia playing a Test series after so many years in Pakistan. The first Test, which was played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi, ended in a draw. But it was worth watching and a sight to behold. Both the teams put their best foot forward in the first Test match. Pakistani batters have managed to impress with their performances, like Abdullah Shafique, Azhar Ali and Imam-ul-Haq.
But I am very happy to see Imam-ul-Haq coming back on the scene with a bang. He scored a century in both the innings and was adjudged Player of the Match. I am sure Imam must have done hard work to be a better batsman. He had gone through lots of criticism in the past for his relations with former Pakistani captain and stylish batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq. People thought that Imam has gained easy entry into the team due to his relations with former captain, but he proved them wrong by hitting back-to-back Test centuries against the mighty Australia. I am happy to see Imam’s reply in his style. I must appreciate him for keeping quiet for so many years. This shows his temperament and mindset. I am sure he will march ahead from here.
