Australian tennis sensation Ash Barty sent shockwaves around the world on Wednesday when she abruptly announced her retirement at the peak of her game and just two months after claiming a third Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. The 25-year-old world number has 15 titles to her name, the last coming at Melbourne Park where she ended Australia’s 44-year wait for a home champion. Her fans around the world could not believe as she is just 25.

Many expected her to go much ahead in life, but she called it a day too early. Even her colleagues from the tennis world could not believe and they all poured their emotional messages in support of her. Ash was indeed a tremendous sport icon for this generation. Her journey is an inspiration for us. She had suffered depression after turning professional as a teenager, then had to quit and then again she went on to become a world star. This is something incredible. We hope she continues to live a healthy and happy life.
