South Indian cinema has been getting lots of attention of late for films like “Pushpa: The Rise,” “RRR” and the most recent “K.G.F: Chapter 2.” They have managed to attract audiences worldwide for their works and these films also have pan-India appeal. I have always found the South Indian film industry more mature and organised.
In the age of social media, now South films are getting a lot of attention through social media and that’s why they are getting more attention. South India has produced some of the best directors, actors and musicians in all these years. Lots of South Indian films are replicated by Bollywood directors and they were equally successful.
Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor was heard praising the South industry and he said it has always been making exceptional films.
He added they serve as an inspiration to Bollywood and have been a pillar of strength for Indian cinema. Post-pandemic Bollywood is struggling to draw crowds, but South Indian films are doing very good business.
I strongly feel Bollywood should collaborate with the South Indian film industry to produce good work. Together they can create great magic. I am sure if the South Indian film industry and Bollywood start a making joint project they can capture a wider audience.
