A great achievement in the line of women’s empowerment in the Kingdom as a Saudi airline hails its first flight with an all-female crew.
The flight, operated by flyadeal, budget subsidiary of flag carrier Saudia, was from the capital Riyadh to the Red Sea coastal city of Jeddah on Thursday (“Saudi airline hails first flight with all-female crew, takes passengers from Riyadh to Jeddah,” May 24, Gulf Today website).
The majority of the seven-member crew were Saudi women, including the first officer, but not the captain, who was a foreign woman, Iskandarani said.
The exciting news shows that Saudi women are fully capable of contributing in all fields of life equally as men do. In 2019, the authority announced the first flight with a female Saudi co-pilot. Saudi officials are trying to engineer a rapid expansion of the aviation sector that would turn the kingdom into a global travel hub.
All praise goes to the rulers of Saudi Arabia for allowing women to participate in the success of the country. It’s so important to empower women in every segment of life. I am sure that the trust shown by the Saudi authorities and empowering women will boost the confidence of Saudi women and they will be capable of achieving many milestones to make their country proud in the future.
I would like to congratulate the flyadeal administration and Saudi women on their huge success in the field of fight services.
