Legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar is considered one of the best batters across all formats in the world of cricket. He has served the nation with integrity and has made us proud with his immense contribution. His records are as huge as a mountain. Many players like M.S. Dhoni, Md. Kaif, Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli have all adored and imitated Sachin, wanting to be like him one day. Such was the charm of this iconic cricketer.
But what fascinates me is that his son Arjun Tendulkar, a left-arm pacer and a left-handed batter, was picked up by five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians but did not get a single game across two seasons. Despite the fact that Sachin himself was part of the Mumbai Indians franchise since its inception, he never forced them to pick his son for the playing 11. Given Sachin’s stature, no franchise can say no to his son, but Sachin has never asked them to allow his son to play for them. He never let nepotism plague his son. He wants his son to stand on his feet. I wish every father can be like him. What Sachin is doing is going to be good for his son in the long run. I am literally amazed at his stand. No wonder, Sachin is considered as the greatest player of all time.
