The cut off time for TV shows to be aired before being considered for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards was May 31. So now that we know the possible contenders for nominations, let’s take a look at some of the best shows that have come out in the last year.
“Maid” was a great miniseries that was hugely popular with TV fans when it aired. Margaret Qualley played a struggling young mother who ends up working as a maid to make ends meet. The show really captured the rawness of the character’s problems. I will be really surprised if this one does not receive at least one nomination.
Another one I loved which could be a serious contender is “The White Lotus.” Firstly, it must be known that the fantastic Jennifer Coolidge stars in this show with an ensemble cast. Dark secrets and twisted truths of the guests and the staff of an upscale resort are revealed during a week that was meant to be a relaxing Hawaii vacation. If you haven’t seen it, you really should. The show has been officially renewed for a second season which will be based in Italy.
“Succession” is another one which could be nominated in a drama category. The satirical black comedy show was created by Jessie Armstrong and premiered back in 2018. There have been three seasons already which have won numerous awards. For season three, “Succession” picked up Best Television Series at the Golden Globes along with plenty of other wins.
In other news this week, turn to our “Health” pages to read about irritable bowel syndrome and the lifestyle changes you can make to help the chronic condition. It seems like so many people complain of stomach problems these days and it’s usually diagnosed as IBS by doctors who can’t find any other reason.
