Big relief

The news of four more ships loaded with grain setting off from Ukraine ports is some sort of relief for the whole world. Ukraine is one of the biggest grain exporter countries in the world (“Four more ships loaded with Ukraine grain set sail,” Aug.8, Gulf Today website).

Despite Moscow and Kyiv blaming each other for a new strike at a Russian-occupied nuclear plant, the supply of grain to the world has taken off uninterrupted from Ukrainian ports.

Kyiv’s infrastructure ministry wrote on Telegram on Sunday that a convoy of Ukrainian supplies had left, with three ships departing from Chornomorsk and one from Odessa. The Mustafa Necati, the Star Helena, the Glory and the Riva Wind were carrying “around 170,000 tonnes of agriculture-related merchandise”, it said.

The spokesman for the Odessa regional military administration said early on Monday morning that the MV Sacura and MV Arizona had also been cleared to set sail.

The war between Russia and Ukraine which started in February this year is still on. The dispute between Russia and Ukraine still remains unsolved. The world needs peace. The fight between Russia and Ukraine is not only the deadliest for the two countries but it will have horrifying consequences for the whole world. I hope the powerful countries will play their vital role and make sure that both nations — Russia and Ukraine — will start meaningful negotiations because the war can’t solve any problem but will destroy countries.
