Pink Caravan, a great initiative by the UAE-based Friends of Cancer Patients to educate people of a killer disease, breast cancer, and providing free early detection screenings and check-ups (“Pink Caravan rallies nationwide ahead of Breast Cancer Month,” Sept. 12 Gulf Today website).
The UAE-based Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP)’s Pink Caravan initiative is calling on public and private sector organisations to come together and get behind the targeted efforts and community-wide activations they are planning to roll out in observance of the international Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There are multiple ways to get involved with, support and sponsor Pink Caravan’s comprehensive international Breast Cancer Awareness Month programme. Those interested can contact the Pink Caravan team at [email protected] or through social media channels @ThePinkCaaravan. Pink Caravan has been campaigning for ten years to provide awareness of silent killer breast cancer disease, which according to the World Health Organisation became the most common cancer globally as of 2021, accounting for 12 per cent of all new annual cancer cases worldwide.
Breast Cancer is curable. Early diagnosis of breast cancer helps to save a patient’s life. Breast cancer becomes lethal when it reaches the last stage. It was noticed earlier that people were unaware of breast cancer threat so they ignored early detection screenings and check-ups. The UAE-based Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP)’s Pink Caravan initiative has succeeded in providing awareness and encouraging people to early get breast cancer detection screenings and check-ups. Hats off to the UAE-based Friends of Cancer Patients’ Pink Caravan for working hard from the last ten years for the noble cause and saving precious lives.
