The frequent road safety awareness campaigns by the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate always guide people to be careful when crossing busy roads around the United Arab Emirates (“Abu Dhabi Police warn motorists about dangers of stopping in the middle of the road,” Oct. 21, Gulf Today website).
People should obey the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate directives because it’s for their own safety and others.
According to the report, the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate has warned motorists to avoid stopping in the middle of the road for any reason. They are advised to take the nearest exit to ensure the safety of other road users.
In the event the vehicle cannot be moved, motorists must immediately dial 999 to receive assistance. Motorists are urged to leave a sufficient and safe distance to avoid sudden stopping of vehicles in highways and internal roads during traffic jams. I am sure people will pay attention to the directives of the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate and prove that they are civilised and responsible residents of the UAE.
