The Government of India is re-introducing Covid-19 testing related measures at airports for international travellers. Samples of those arriving from foreign countries will be randomly tested for coronavirus, health ministry sources said on Wednesday. The fresh measures come in the wake of a sharp spike in Covid-19 cases in China. This is very scary news. Lots of people are travelling this winter to enjoy their time with family and friends in India, but the spike in Covid-19 cases in China is a cause for concern. We thought it is over now and we can have a great time flying in and out of India, but the sudden change in situation might dampen the holiday mood.
I hope and pray that the situation does not aggravate like the previous year and we can enjoy Christmas and the New Year. But I feel we should start following safety protocols like the way we have done in the past. We can follow social distancing, wear masks and can avoid unnecessary gatherings. Now we all are experienced so we can manage the situation without panicking. Those who have reached India, and have to return UAE next year can take precautions. It is better to be safe than sorry.
