The world is facing a huge economic meltdown which causes heavily on cost-of-living people are facing around the globe. I firmly believe that not only in the United Kingdom, people from all over the world are facing serious issues of cost-of-living (“Half a million strike in UK as cost-of-living crisis bites,” Feb. 1, Gulf Today website).
There is no doubt that cost-of-living has become out of control from the common people because of unemployment, surge in commodity price, fuel and electricity has become expensive to afford.
According to the report, about half a million British teachers, civil servants, train drivers and university lecturers took part in the biggest coordinated strike for decades, which the government says will cause widespread business disruption.
Britain has seen waves of strikes, from teachers to Amazon warehouse people and Royal Mail employees, with inflation soaring to more than 10 per cent, the highest level in four decades.
About 300,000 teachers and almost 100,000 authorities personnel from greater than 120 departments, tens of thousands of university lecturers, and workers in the railway sector took part in the strike on Wednesday.
The United Kingdom government should address the grievances of the people who are on the road protesting for the right to live happily and respectfully.
