The biggest problem the world is facing in the present time is climate change. The world has to take global warming seriously before it becomes too late (“23 dead as dozens of wildfires torch forests in Chile,” Feb.5, Gulf Today website).
It’s so alarming that dozens of wildfires forced the Chilean government to extend an emergency order to another region to cope with an emergency situation in the country.
According to the report, the wildfires have claimed at least 23 innocent lives so far and a scorching summer heat wave complicates efforts to control fires.
The raging fires, according to an official briefing later on Saturday, have injured at least 979 people. The latest emergency order covers the southern region of La Araucania, next to the previously declared Biobio and Nuble regions, located near the middle of the South American country’s long Pacific coastline.
Nothing is impossible in this beautiful world. We can achieve anything that we all try to achieve together. It’s the need of the hour to act united against climate change. I hope the world together will address the burning issue of global warming and make concrete efforts to save itself for the sake of the present and coming generations.
