The initiative taken by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation to announce the Unemployment Insurance Scheme is a brilliant idea and its success in the mass shows importance. The Unemployment Insurance Scheme by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation will definitely help people in their difficult time (“Unemployment Insurance Scheme subscribers exceed 1m since launch in January 2023,” April 6, Gulf Today website). According to the report, The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced that the Unemployment Insurance Scheme has exceeded one million subscribers since its launch in January 2023.
The Unemployment Insurance Scheme covers employees in the federal government sector and the private sector, providing a low-cost job security net that supports the career path and living stability of employees in the UAE.
The huge number of Unemployment Insurance Scheme subscribers that crossed one million since it was launched in January 2023 shows the common people’s satisfaction with the helpful scheme. While talking to the media, Dr Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, highlighted that the Scheme, as a pillar of the legislative infrastructure that aims to attract Emirati and international talents and empower them, has had a positive impact on the labour market, noting that it is a driver of growth for the UAE’s economic sectors.
He called on those who are eligible to subscribe to the Unemployment Insurance Scheme to benefit from its insurance coverage, and on employers to encourage their employees to subscribe. I am sure in the coming day millions of employees in the United Arab Emirates will have an Unemployment Insurance Policy and benefit from it.
