I appreciate Pakistan Cricket board (PCB) for picking up the best team for the upcoming series against New Zealand. This is the best team Pakistan has selected in the recent past.
Shaheen Shah Afridi has returned to squads for the two white ball series against New Zealand. Babar Azam rested for the three-match T20 series against Afghanistan last month returned as skipper along with Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan and Haris Rauf.
Three youngsters Ihsanullah, Zaman Khan and opener Saim Ayub — have been retained in the T20 squad following good performances in Sharjah. I am happy to see Ihsanullah, Zaman and Saim in the team.
I think these young guns can cement their place in the side for the upcoming World Cup. They are really talented players. Let’s see how they go from here. I feel sorry for wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan for not making it in the team. I don’t know why he failed to perform against Afghanistan in Sharjah, despite having a very good form during the PSL. I think Azam will surely learn from his mistakes and would return soon in the national squad with his hardwork.
