There’s nothing like settling down to watch a good movie, at home or at the cinema, especially when the weather is getting hotter by the day. This week we are taking a look at some of the most exciting movies coming out over the next few months.
The live action version of the famous 1989 animation “The Little Mermaid” is actually out this weekend. Starring singer and actress Halle Bailey as Ariel, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula and Jonah Hauer-King as Eric, the movie has been a while in the making because of the pandemic. It is always exciting watching an animation come to life and I am sure there will be many happy audiences in cinemas this weekend.
Another film to look out for this summer is director Wes Anderson’s science fiction, romantic comedy “Asteroid City.” The movie features an ensemble cast with the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jason Schwartzman, Adrien Brody and Margot Robbie to name a few. Set in 1955, the film tells the story of unusual events that occur at an annual Junior Stargazer convention. The film has just premiered at the 76th Cannes International Film Festival.
While I am no fan of action movies, I am sure “Mission Impossible” fans are eagerly awaiting the seventh installment of the famous franchise. Tom Cruise will be back with his stunts in “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One” along with actresses Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson and Vanessa Kirby. The sequel, “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two,” will be out next year in the summer.
