The United Arab Emirates government is serving a great humanitarian cause establishing the Chad-based Emirati field hospital in Amdjarass to support Sudanese refugees which is providing good treatment to the needy people in the country (“UAE humanitarian delegation visits Chad-based Emirati field hospital in Amdjarass,” July 22, Gulf Today website).
According to the report, a delegation from the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited the Amdjarass-based UAE field hospital in Chad. The UAE established the field hospital in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to support Sudanese refugees in Chad and provide urgent humanitarian aid. The delegation’s visit aims to follow up on the hospital’s operations. Dr Ahmed Obaid Al Dhaheri, Head of the ERC delegation in Chad, said that the visit of the UAE’s delegation is an extension of the UAE’s deep-rooted humanitarian approach to helping those in need, and is a translation of the UAE President’s directives and the follow-up of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the ERC.
It’s so unfortunate that the war between the Sudan Army and the paramilitary forces which has made life miserable for the Sudanese people in the country is going on and there is no sign of peace.
Hundreds of people have died and many left their country to seek refuge in neighbouring countries.
The Sudanese warring parties should keep their differences aside and start peace talks as soon as possible. It’s the need of the hour to start negotiations for peace in the best interest of the Sudanese people and for the country.
I would like to appreciate the efforts for the Chad-based Emirati field hospital in Amdjarass by the UAE humanitarian delegation to ensure the best treatment service.
