A new report from the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific about over 140 disasters that the world has faced last year because of climate change, demands collective measures to tackle the global warming (“Over 140 disasters hit 64m people, loss stands at $57b in Asia-Pacific region last year: Report,” July 26, Gulf Today website).
According to a new report from the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), in 2022 alone, over 140 disasters struck the region, leading to over 7,500 deaths.
Climate change disasters are borderless. The impact of global warming affects every corner of the world. European countries are experiencing record hot temperatures in the summer they never experienced before just because of climate change.
The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific’s report is a wakeup call for the world to be united and fight against climate change and save the coming generations.
