India’s lunar spacecraft landed safely near the Moon’s little-explored South Pole on Wednesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday also congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and its team for the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon. Modi, who watched the landing live from Johannesburg, where he is currently participating in the BRICS summit, said: “I congratulate the ISRO team and scientists from the core of my heart for this accomplishment. It’s a historic moment for us as Chandrayaan-3 lands on the Moon. I am in South Africa but like all Indians, my heart has sunk in the celebrations of Chandrayaan-3,” he added.
This is a great moment for India and Indians. India became the fourth country after the United States, the Soviet Union and China to achieve a moon landing. Space agencies of the US, the UK and Europe have congratulated the success of India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission. Whole credit goes to ISRO for doing such a great work. They were constantly working hard on this project for months and months. I also feel happy for the leadership of Modi for always inspiring the ISRO team. I spoke to my friends and relatives in India, they looked very excited and were celebrating this milestone. This extraordinary achievement will inspire young generations of Indians to aim high in life.
