The BCCI has announced India’s cricket World Cup squad on Tuesday. K. L. Rahul has been included in the team. Rahul was nursing his injury for some time, so his coming back into fitness will give India a major boost. India will play with the same team, which is already playing in the Asia Cup except for Rahul’s addition. Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson were left out, unfortunately BCCI can only pick only 15 players for the World Cup. But I feel Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar has picked the right team. Those who doubt Rahul’s credibility should know that he is a big match player and has ample experience. He alone can turn the match in India’s favour on any given day. That’s why BCCI is backing him so strongly. I am sure Rahul will come out with flying colours.
The way India played against Nepal on Monday is a good sign. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubham Gill played a very good knock. Both of them look to be in tremendous form. Hope they continue the same till the World Cup. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja looked good against Nepal. They all have got match practice. A few more matches they will play in the ongoing Asia Cup before they think of the World Cup. We can hope for the best. I hope Team India will do their best to lift this year’s World Cup. I feel Rohit can repeat the magic of 2011.
