The news regarding new rules about heavy vehicles is so informative, it’s so important for business owners to have a review of the news to avoid any unnecessary fines. The new rule of heavy vehicles will be implemented from 2024 (“Heavy vehicles weighing over 65 tonnes will not be allowed on UAE roads from 2024,” Gulf Today website).
According to the report, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) today revealed the details of the amendments to the federal law regulating the weights and dimensions of heavy vehicles on UAE roads. The amendments were recently approved by the UAE Cabinet, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. As per the amendments, the permissible maximum weight of heavy vehicles will be set at 65 tonnes from 2024. They also identify the responsibilities of heavy vehicle operators, whether they own or rent it, and control entities to ensure compliance.
Now it’s the responsibility of the heavy vehicle operators to fully insure the newly revealed details of the amendments to the federal law regarding heavy vehicles and obey the rules.
