It’s an informative report by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security regarding the free 48-hour-transit visa to UAE for the travellers from all over the world (“Free 48-hour-transit visa to UAE is not extendable: ICP,” Sept.18, Gulf Today website).
According to the report, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) explained that the UAE issues two types of transit visas: one is for 48 hours, which is free of charge, and another is for 96 hours for Dhs50 only. It pointed out that transit visas are sponsored only by the UAE-based airlines and must be processed and approved before entering the UAE. Both types of transit visas are not extendable, the ICP confirmed.
It’s a great opportunity for the travellers who are availing connecting flights to any destination all over the world through UAE, travelling by the UAE-based airlines to get 48-hour-transit visa without charges and 96 hours transit visa just for Dhs50.
The report has clearly mentioned that there is no provision to extend transit visas more than above mentioned days.
I hope travellers from all over the world will pay attention to a very important report by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security regarding transit visas and make sure that they will not make any mistake during their stay in the United Arab Emirates on transit visas to avoid any unnecessary fines.
