Dubai is renowned for its high-tech infrastructure, towering skyscrapers, and opulent vehicles (“90% construction of cycling tracks completed in 2 years,” Sept.18, Gulf Today website). However, upon delving deeper into Dubai’s essence, one discovers that it offers far more than meets the eye.
While vehicles may have taken the spotlight in the past two decades, the current trend emphasises walking and cycling, promoting both health and environmental consciousness. The recent completion of a 39-kilometre dedicated cycling path by RTA stands as a commendable effort, aligning with Dubai’s commitment to accelerate its journey toward energy transition and achieving net-zero emissions.
Dubai’s success stories emphasise the crucial role of its people in its development. In the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, ‘The race for excellence has no finish line.’ Dubai’s relentless pursuit of perfection knows no bounds.
