Destination Sharjah

One of the most celebrated events of Sharjah, Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), started on Wednesday. UAE residents are very excited and are looking forward to attend it. Visitors from across the UAE throng Sharjah to attend the event. My friends from Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah are also planning to attend the event during the weekend with their school-going children.

It is wonderful to see so many children attending the event.  SIBF has been instrumental in inculcating a habit of loving and embracing books. I remember my children had started visiting SIBF when they were learning to speak and write and today they are at the cusp of going to universities, and they still love to be at the book fair. In fact, they have developed an affinity for books. In an era of digitalisation, they still go through books.

They love to buy and read books. I always give credit to their exposure at SIBF.  Even schools helped them inculcate a habit of reading from the very beginning. So many schools bring their children to the book fair almost daily, which is indeed a fantastic thing.
